READ-AT-HOME CLOSES IN ON A MILLION MINUTES!
Students continue to read and submit their reading minute logs. We passed 750,000 minutes about a month ago and will celebrate with a character dress-up day on Monday, March 2nd, in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Our next goal will be to earn a school-wide “Day at the Races”. Mr. Settelmeyer will be helping arrange a visit with some local racers. Then, we’ll take a big field trip to the race track to see them in action! Thank you, Mr. Settelmeyer! Keep on reading!!
READ AT HOME MINUTES TOP 500,000!
Students at Harrison Elementary have spent a lot of time reading at home! They have passed the 500,000 minute mark. Classrooms will celebrate by viewing a video and munching popcorn. This celebration will be scheduled by the teacher. Our next goal is 750,000 minutes, where we’ll get to dress up as our favorite book character or wear pajamas to school for the day, so keep reading, Bobcats!
School Read-At-Home Minutes tops 430,000!
Our students are doing a wonderful job of reading and turning in their parent-signed reading log minute forms. We have topped 430,000 minutes and are on our way to our next school-wide reward! When we reached 250,000 minutes the students had “Crazy Hair and Sit Anywhere at Lunch” Day. It was a lot of fun and we saw some pretty wild new hair colors and styles. Now we’re headed toward our next big goal of 500,000 minutes! When we reach this goal, classes will have a video and popcorn day. We hope the winter holiday will provide your family with some relaxed time to read a good book! Thanks for remembering to turn in those reading log forms!
